US Women's Open Golf - Malaysian makes cut

While the whole nation is watching the Brazil vs France match on Astro sports, I was following the US Women's Open golf champioship on ESPN and on the official website. The TV coverage has been mostly on Annika Sorenstam who is leading after 2 rounds and Michelle Wie, who ended the day 2 strokes behind the leaders. I did not expect any coverage on a lone Malaysian playing in arguably the toughest women's golf tour in the world, in a field of 155 players. For 2006, the length of the course is the second longest in history. Coupled with the weather condition, it is no surprise that only 2 players were under par after 2 rounds.
The lone Malaysian, Lim Siew Ai, made the cut at +6, tied 36. The cut was set at +8 for the top 60s and ties. Amongst the notables who missed the cut are Helen Alfredsson, Christina Kim, Liselotte Neumann, Meg Mallon, Laura Diaz, and Laura Davies, all previous winners on the LPGA tour.
The final 2 rounds will be played today and live coverage will be on ESPN from 11pm.
